How to prevent infection in children with nephrotic syndrome?

Written by admin | Published on 2017-08-21

Children with nephrotic syndrome is a common kidney disease, often because of skin edema, a large number of proteinuria, decreased immunity and other issues, prone to cause various types of infections, such as skin infections, urinary tract infections and respiratory infections. Especially children because the body's development function has not been perfect, we should pay more attention to strengthening protection, timely use of measures to protect, to reduce the incidence of infection.

1 Prevention of skin infections

The kidneys are the main organ that discharges water from the body, but when the kidney has problem, it can cause poor water discharge, so edema is one of the most common symptoms after kidneys have problems, and children with nephrotic syndrome are no exception. Edema of children with nephrotic syndrome increased skin tension, the subcutaneous blood can not circulate properly, combined with low proteinemia and long-term use of hormones, the body immunity decreased, prone to cause skin infections. Usually should pay attention to keep skin of children dry, clean; regularly turn over and drying bedding of children, keep the bedding soft; daily scrub children's armpits, groin, etc. For children with severe edema, should avoid intramuscular injection.

2 Prevention of urinary tract infection

Proteinuria is a common manifestation of kidney disease, urine protein content increased for the growth and reproduction of bacteria provides a good environment, and because of the decline in the body's immunity, the bacteria will be "homeopathic and" easy to invade the body, causing urinary tract infection. If children are suffering from nephrotic syndrome should pay attention to keep perineum clean, daily cleaning, if necessary, to take preventive measures, it should be noted that many drugs have damage to the kidneys, consult a doctor before you use the medication so as not to aggravate the condition.
