1.The supply of protein .The dietary treatment of chronic nephritis should depend on the level of renal damage to ensure the intake of protein .Patients with long-term illness and the renal damage is not serious should not strict control the protein ,but it is better not more than 1g/kilo ,the good protein must reach to more than 50% .

2.Due to parts of the patients limit the protein ,so the carbohydrate and the fat as the main source of the supply of heat energy and the energy supply depends on the labor intensity .The adult can supply 126-147kilojoule (30-35kilocalorie)/kilo of body weight .

3.Controlling the intake of sodium salt .When there is serious edema and high blood pressure ,the sodium salt should control under 2g/d even give salt-free diet ,commonly the low-salt diet is better .

The food choice of chronic nephritis

1.Supply enough vitamin especially vitamin C,because patients with long-term chronic nephritis will occur anemia ,supply vitamin C can increase the absorption of iron ,so patients should eat tomato 、green vegetables 、fresh jujube 、watermelon 、carrots 、cucumber、orange 、kiui fruit and natural juice ,etc.

2.Patients with poor appetite can supply vitamin C ;at the same time can supply vitamin B and foods rich in folic acid ,such as the animal internal organs and green vegetables ,which can helpful to correct anemia .When it occurs hyperkalemia patients should not to eat the high potassium foods .Patients with chronic nephritis should avoid eating sugar and stimulating foods .
